Hi, I’m Alissa!

Therapist, school counselor, nature lover, mom of four (including twins!), and someone who believes that healing happens best when you feel safe to show up exactly as you are. I’m someone who finds grounding in the outdoors, slow moments with my family, and any chance to move my body — and I bring that same steady, calming energy into the therapy room.

A professor once told me I was made for this work, and she was right. Even early in my career, supporting students in school settings — especially military-connected communities — I found myself drawn to the deeper moments when someone felt truly seen. Those conversations stayed with me and eventually led me into therapy, where I could walk alongside people in a more meaningful and intentional way.

Clients often describe me as calm, warm, grounding, and deeply present. I’m a quiet steady type — someone who listens closely, honors your pace, and creates a space where nothing has to be performed or polished. You’re welcome to bring your overwhelm, frustration, confusion, or mess into the room; we’ll sort through it together. My hope is that you leave each session feeling a little lighter, a little more understood, and more connected to yourself.

My work blends systems thinking, play therapy techniques, humanistic approaches, and trauma-informed care. I support children, teens, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, identity challenges, relationship stress, and the unique pressures many military families experience. I’m especially connected to teenagers — their depth, honesty, and resilience make this work feel incredibly meaningful — as well as moms who are trying to rediscover who they are within and beyond parenting.

Outside of therapy, you’ll find me hiking Colorado trails, traveling, or easing back into backpacking after a long pause while raising kids. My family is my anchor, and the rhythm of nature is how I recharge so I can show up fully for the people I work with.

I’m grateful to walk alongside you as you make sense of your story — and discover the stronger, steadier version of yourself that’s been there all along.
