Hi, I’m Katie!

Trauma therapist, EMDR enthusiast, owner of Crescita Counseling, dog mom to a Wheaten terrier named Keith (yes, he knows he’s the main character), fall lover, British TV fan, and someone who believes healing works best when you’re allowed to show up exactly as you are.

Before becoming a therapist, I worked as a school counselor. I loved supporting kids and teens, but I found myself craving deeper conversations — the kind where people could finally slow down, breathe, and talk about the real things underneath the surface. Becoming a therapist gave me the space to do that: to work with people in the moments that matter, not just the moments that are easy.

Clients tend to describe me as funny, caring, and grounding — someone who can sit with the heavy things without making them feel heavier. In the therapy room, I bring a mix of calm energy, curiosity, and just enough sarcasm or dark humor to help the hard stuff feel a bit more human. I’m real, down-to-earth, and not here to judge or rush you. We work at your pace, with honesty, compassion, and room for whatever comes up — even if that’s “I don’t know what I’m feeling.”

My work centers around EMDR therapy, parts work, somatic awareness, and trauma-informed care, especially for adults dealing with childhood trauma, dissociation, emotional overwhelm, or long-standing patterns they can’t seem to break. I’m especially connected to clients who overthink, shut down, or hide behind humor because it feels easier than being vulnerable (trust me, you’re in good company).

I genuinely love helping people understand their internal world — the parts of themselves that developed to protect them, the nervous system responses that make complete sense once someone finally explains them, and the patterns that quietly run the show until we bring them into the light. When we slow down enough to understand these pieces, healing becomes more than possible — it becomes natural.

Outside of therapy, you’ll find me hiking, traveling to new countries (22 and counting), reading, picking up new hobbies (even if they rotate weekly), or savoring the stillness of fresh snow. These parts of my life help me stay grounded so I can show up fully for the people I work with.

I’m honored to walk alongside you as you rediscover the parts of yourself you’ve been missing.
